Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

Click Check Availability & Book to see live dates and prices. You can secure your stay instantly with a 20% deposit via Stripe.

Booking direct at Perthi guarantees you the best price (saving 18% vs travel platforms) and gives you a direct line to us as a family-run business.

For full details, see our How to Book & Cancellation Policy.

Is Perthi a good base for exploring the area?

Yes. Perthi is located just above Beddgelert village, making it an excellent base for exploring Eryri (Snowdonia) and the wider North Wales region. Guests can walk into the village and easily access mountain, valley, and coastal routes, then return each day to a calm, rural setting on our working family sheep farm.

Popular days out are all within easy reach: Portmeirion is around 30 minutes, Caernarfon Castle about 35 minutes, and Zip World roughly 35–45 minutes depending on the venue. Beaches such as Dinas Dinlle and Black Rock Sands are around 30 minutes away, and the Llyn Peninsula is about an hour.

How close are the cottages to Beddgelert village?

Perthi sits just above Beddgelert, and the village is very close — around a 10‑minute walk. There’s a marked path through fields and woodland that leads down to the centre, and about 20 minutes back up. The path can get wet after rain, so walking shoes are recommended.

Are there walks from the door?

Yes — you can walk straight from the cottages. A public footpath passes Perthi, and there are also a few private paths across our land that guests are welcome to use (you’ll find more information about these in the cottage information book when you arrive).

From the cottages you can easily reach all the walks that start from Beddgelert village — see our walking route guides if you’d like more ideas for walks in the area.

Is Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) close?

Yes — we’re very close to the main routes up Yr Wyddfa. The Rhyd Ddu Path is just a 7‑minute drive from the cottages, the Snowdon Ranger Path around 12 minutes, and the Watkin Path about 10 minutes.

It’s also technically possible to walk to Yr Wyddfa directly from Perthi, but this is a serious full‑day mountain route over our private land. The path is faint in places, requires strong navigation skills, and involves summiting Yr Aran first. It’s only suitable for experienced walkers — if you’d like to know more, just get in touch.

Is there parking at the cottages?

Yes — each cottage has its own parking space right outside, with room for up to two cars per cottage.

Is this a quiet place to stay?

Yes. The cottages sit on a working mountain farm above Beddgelert, away from busy roads and crowds. Guests often comment on the peaceful setting and sense of space.

Who are the cottages best suited for?

Perthi is ideal for walkers, couples looking for a peaceful break, and families who enjoy being outdoors. It suits guests who appreciate a rural location rather than a busy resort.

Can international guests pay in EUR, USD, AUD or other currencies?

Yes. If you're booking from outside the UK, you can pay in your own currency (EUR, USD, AUD, etc.) via Wise.com secure local bank transfer. This avoids the high international conversion fees that standard credit card processors often charge to both you and us.

If you would prefer to pay this way, please do not use the online checkout. Instead, email or call us with your preferred dates. We will hold the cottage for you and send over the Wise.com secure payment link in your local currency.

Can returning guests still pay by BACS?

Yes. If you’ve stayed with us before and prefer to pay by BACS, that option is still available. Just email or call us and we’ll send the details and hold the cottage for you.

Is Perthi Holiday Cottages family-run?

The cottages sit on Delyth’s family sheep farm, where her parents still live and work — a real, working place, especially at lambing time. We took over running the cottages in 2021 and live nearby in Waunfawr, looking after everything ourselves and always close at hand if guests need us.
